Rider flown to hospital

Today the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to a motocross event at Pongakawa where a 23 year old Tauranga man had crashed off his motocross bike whilst traveling at speed. He received shoulder and internal injuries as a result, he was flown to Tauranga Hospital in a moderate condition. The rescue helicopter was used because of the nature of his injuries and distance to hospital.
