Flags to be flown at half-mast
for Paris
The Mayor has directed that flags
flying from council buildings across Auckland be flown at
half-mast today as Aucklanders express their sorrow and
solidarity with the people of Paris.
It follows a request from the Prime Minister’s Office to councils around New Zealand and comes after Auckland Council set up a Book of Condolence for Aucklanders to share their thoughts with Parisians in the aftermath of the attacks.
The book is available for signing on the ground floor of the Auckland Town Hall on Queen St during business hours from today until Friday, November 20.
“I am sure many Aucklanders will take this opportunity to stand united with the people of Paris at this time of tragedy,” says Len Brown.
