The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Levin this morning at around 3:00am for a 5 year old with a medical emergency. She was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted, along with her Mum, to Wellington Hospital for specialist treatment. The mission was flown with the aid of Night Vision Goggles. Later this afternoon at around 2:30pm the helicopter was dispatched to Te Horo for a man in his 50’s, injured after he was hit by a steer. He was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
