Stand with Standing Rock: Solidarity Rallies
On the first weekend of September, Indigenous movements around the world will rally in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and their fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline.
The pipeline will cross the junction of the Cannonball and Missouri rivers, threatening Indigenous waterways and primary drinking sources. The pipeline will carry approximately 470,000 barrels per day of fracked oil, 1,172 miles from North Dakota to Illinois.
Stand with Standing Rock rallies are Indigenous led solidarity movements, that call for the stop to the Dakota Access Pipeline as well as other corporate projects that continue to perpetuate colonization and environmental genocide.
There will be two solidarity rallies, organized by Racial Equity Aotearoa, set for Sunday September 4th 10am.
