Dunedin CDEM moves to monitoring
status
This will be the final
release from Dunedin CDEM unless the situation
changes.
Dunedin Civil Defence Emergency
Management has moved to a monitoring status in response to
the beach and marine threat to the city. Civil defence
staff will remain onsite in the Dunedin CDEM headquarters to
monitor the situation as earthquake activity is ongoing.
The land-based threat to the low-lying coastal areas has passed, but a beach and marine threat remains.
People can return to their homes but need to stay off beaches and shorelines. Unusual currents and wave patterns are likely to continue throughout the day.
