DECLARATION OF RESULT
The final result for the Palmerston North City Council Māori ward poll that closed on Saturday 19 May 2018 is:

I therefore declare that the option AGAINST the establishment of a Māori ward or wards for Palmerston North City Council, having received the greater number of votes, will apply for Palmerston North City Council elections to be held in 2019 and 2022. The result of the poll is binding on the Council and a Māori ward or wards will not be established for the 2019 and 2022 elections.
The voter return was 37.36%, being 21,263 votes.
