Neighbours Day Aotearoa is revving up

Neighbours Day Aotearoa is revving up for their biggest celebration yet!

Neighbours Day Aotearoa co-ordinators, Cissy Rock and Sam Orchard, are hitting the road in the lead up to our 10th celebration of Neighbours Day Aotearoa! Cissy and Sam are embarking on a nationwide road trip during November and December of 2018.

The aim of their cross-country mission, is to both highlight the great work being done in local communities, and to inspire and encourage people to participate in Neighbours Day Aotearoa’s 10th birthday celebration in 2019. As they drive the length of the country, Cissy and Sam will be running workshops and reaching out to meet the people working hard to create amazing neighbourhoods across New Zealand. These interactive workshops are open for anyone planning or supporting a Neighbours Day Aotearoa event.

Along the way, Cissy and Sam will be chatting with local community members and organisations about the great initiatives that are happening across the country. These conversations will be filmed and put together to create a ‘Neighbours of New Zealand’ video.

So far, they have over 30 destinations on their agenda – from Invercargill to Kerikeri.

You can follow their Road Trip here: www.neighboursday.org.nz/roadtrip

Neighbours Day Aotearoa is a collaborative campaign organised and supported by Lifewise, Inspiring Communities, The Mental Health Foundation, Christchurch Methodist Mission, New Zealand Red Cross, Neighbourhood Support New Zealand and Housing New Zealand.
