Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on Waioeka Road - in the Waioeka Gorge.

A truck and trailer unit has rolled into the river.

The crash was reported to Police just before 12pm.

Indications are there are injuries.

The gorge is expected to be closed and motorists are asked to delay travel.
