Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on Matapouri Road, near the intersection of Kaiatea Road, involving a truck and a motorcycle.

The crash was reported to Police just after 12.30pm.

Initial indications are there are injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit will be attending and the road is expected to be closed for some time.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
