One person has died following the earlier single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Tram Road and North Eyre Road, West Eyreton, Waimakariri.

The road is due to reopen shortly.

Police thank motorists for their patience.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
