One person has died following a single vehicle crash on The Avenue (State Highway 1), Levin, overnight.

Police responded to a report of a crash shortly before 4m.

One person died at the scene, while two others sustained critical injuries and were transported to hospital.

The Serious Crash Unit attended and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
