Police are advising motorists Whangārei Heads Road, Tamaterau, is closed due to surface flooding.

Vehicles travelling on the Whangārei Heads are being diverted to Mount Tiger Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, or delay travel if possible, as traffic is building.
