One person has died following a crash on State Highway 2, Pukehina yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash just before 2pm.

The driver of the other vehicle is in hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
