Code Of Conduct Breach |
During Council’s Ordinary meeting on Tuesday 8 July elected members considered a breach of Stratford District Council’s code of conduct by Deputy Mayor Min McKay.
This followed a complaint made in June 2025 against Deputy Mayor McKay regarding the disclosure of confidential information to a third party.
“As prescribed in Council’s Code of Conduct for elected members, this triggered an independent investigation with a report presented back to council.” says Chief Executive Sven Hanne.
Elected members accepted the investigator’s findings that Deputy Mayor McKay’s actions amounted to a breach of Council’s code of conduct and requested an apology to all fellow elected members and the Audit and Risk Committee.
As this matter relates to an on-going dispute with a third party, the details of the breach will remain confidential to protect council’s legal position as well as the identity of the third party involved.
