Reid Road, Whakatane, is closed between Cross Road and Awahou Road.

A two vehicle crash occurred at about 8.30am and the road is completely blocked.

Emergency services are on scene and attending to at least two serious injuries.

Police asks motorists to avoid the area if at all possible.
