Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious crash on Leigh Road, Matakana, between Quintal and Takatu Roads.

The single-vehicle crash was reported to Police shortly after 6pm.

Initial indications suggest one person has been seriously injured.

The road will be closed, with diversions in place.

Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
