A truck crash near Cheviot in North Canterbury has closed State Highway 1 this morning.

The section of highway between Old Main Road and Nonoti Road is closed while the crashed truck is blocking the highway.

Emergency services are at the crash scene, and motorists are urged to use alternative routes or delay their journeys if they can.
