Thirty Two Entered For Upcoming Kaipara Elections

A total of 32 candidates are confirmed for Kaipara District Council’s local elections on 11 October.

The preliminary list of candidates includes four for mayor and 28 for councillor positions. Please note that nominations are preliminary until confirmed by a public notice being published on the Kaipara District Council website, Wednesday 6 August.

Councillor candidate nominations include eight nominations for Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Ward, seven nominations for Otamatea Ward, and 13 nominations for the Wairoa Ward.

The candidates are (alphabetically by surname):

Candidate videos will be published on the Kaipara District Council website on Monday 1 September. All confirmed candidates who have chosen to participate will answer an identical set of questions.

Voters can expect to receive their voting papers in the mail from Tuesday 9 September. Voters who have updated their details or enrolled after Friday 1 August will need to cast a special vote. Voting closes at 12 noon on Saturday 11 October.
