Ballot Bin Hits The Road For Coastal Voting Push |

A mobile ballot bin will visit Tīnui, Castlepoint, and Riversdale on Saturday 4 October as part of a push to maximise voting in the local body election.
Returns to date are currently outstripping the three previous elections, with 6.02 percent of votes returned by 25 September, a total of 1,211 votes, compared with 3.64 percent at the same stage in 2022.
The roadtrip is part of mahi to encourage as many people as possible to vote before the deadline of 12 noon on Saturday, 11 October
An increased number of ballot bins is supporting the turnout - these can be found at nine locations across Masterton (also listed below).
Anyone who has not received their voting papers, or hasn’t enrolled, can still make their voice heard using the special voting process.
Special voting takes about 15 minutes and can be done at any time between 9am and 4pm at Waiata House, 27 Lincoln Road.
Late-night special voting will be offered at Waiata House on Tuesday 7 October and Thursday 9 October from 4pm - 7pm, for those who can’t vote during business hours.
Voters don’t need to bring ID with them but they will be required to make a declaration confirming that the information they have provided is correct.
The final episode of the Ready, Steady, Vote radio show will be dedicated to answering questions about the special voting process.
Broadcast on Arrow FM at 2pm on Tuesday 30 September, the limited series is designed to get Masterton voting.
