Truck Moved And SH73 Lane Reopened

UPDATE: 11am – Truck moved and SH73 lane reopened

The eastbound lane on the Otira Viaduct on State Highway 73 is now clear after a truck that had broken down has been moved.

Stop/go traffic management that was in place has now been lifted and normal traffic flows have resumed.

9.10am – Lane blocked on SH73 due to truck breakdown

Motorists travelling on the Otira Viaduct on State Highway 73 this morning are being urged to drive with caution because of a truck breakdown that is blocking the eastbound lane.

Stop/go traffic management is in place at the viaduct, near Arthur’s Pass, after the breakdown occurred overnight.

Efforts are underway to shift the truck and an update on this is expected by midday.
