The Tindall Foundation Funding Round Opens For Taupō

Community organisations across Taupō are invited to apply for The Tindall Foundation funding open until 31 March 2026.

The Tindall Foundation prioritises initiatives that support children under five, youth development, family and whānau wellbeing, and broader community outcomes. Grants can range from $500 to $15,000.

Geyser Community Foundation is proud to serve as the Local Donation Manager for The Tindall Foundation across Rotorua and Taupō. In this role, Geyser works closely with local organisations to distribute funding where it can make the greatest difference locally.

Last year, Taupō Timebank received a $5,000 grant through The Tindall Foundation to support its youth development programmes.

The funding helped cover essential operational costs to ensure continued delivery of Young Pioneers and Upskillz.

Young Pioneers provides hands on outdoor education for tamariki aged approximately 7 to 15, teaching practical skills such as gardening, bushcraft, sustainability and teamwork in community garden and bush settings.

Upskillz supports rangatahi to build practical trade and life skills, confidence, and work readiness. Through hands on projects, young people develop tool skills, problem solving abilities, and pathways into further training or employment.

Blair Cameron, Director of Taupō Timebank, says the funding was vital in maintaining consistent programme delivery.

“The support from The Tindall Foundation has enabled us to continue delivering high quality, practical programmes for tamariki and rangatahi at a time of growing need. These hands on experiences build confidence, connection and long term skills.”

“Our programmes make a difference for whanau and our communities on the ground. For example one participant went on to build a raised garden bed for his grandmother after gaining confidence through the programme “

Geyser Community Foundation General Manager Rosie Riggir says the upcoming funding round represents an important opportunity for Taupō charities.

“We encourage trustees, staff and supporters to learn more about The Tindall Foundation and explore Geyser’s other options for creating permanent funding streams for their charity. Strong organisations build strong communities, and we are here to support that journey.”

To support organisations considering an application, Geyser Community Foundation is hosting an information session at Waiora House.

Attendees will hear about Geyser’s role as Local Donation Manager for The Tindall Foundation and receive an overview of The Tindall Foundation funding round. The session will also introduce Geyser’s Charity Fund Framework, designed to help charities strengthen long term sustainability and develop permanent funding streams.
