World Volatility Pushes Prices Up Locally |
||
8 April 2002
The rapid rise in world oil prices has
forced BP to increase its petrol and diesel prices by two
cents a litre.
The price rise comes into effect at midnight tonight (Monday, 8 April) at BP’s company-operated service stations.
BP will also lift its wholesale price by 2 cents to independently-owned BP service stations at midnight tonight.
Prices in the main cities will move to $1.10.9 for Unleaded 91 petrol and $1.15.9 for Unleaded Premium. Diesel rises to 69.9 cents.
The price increase may vary from town to town according to local competition.
BP Managing Director Peter Griffiths said turmoil in the Middle East is putting pressure on world oil supply which, in turn, has pushed up fuel prices around the world.
He warned that this latest increase is not likely to be the last.
