Monthly Traffic Update for March 2007

• International passenger volumes grew strongly in March 2007, up 7.6% over the same month last year.
• International arrivals were up 8.9% with international departures up 6.4%.
• New Zealand resident arrivals were very strong, up 13.9% for the month.
• There was also very strong growth in the major inbound markets of Australia (10.9%) and the UK (11.5%).
• However, arrivals from the USA were down 4.4%.
• Strong growth continued from China (excluding Hong Kong), up 18%, reflecting the success of Air NZ’s Shanghai service.
• These were offset by a continued decline in Japanese arrivals, which were down 12.0% in March.
• For the financial year to date, total international passengers (excluding transits and transfers) are now up 2.0% over the same period last
year.
• Domestic passengers were up 3.3% in March 2007 and are up 2.3% for the financial year to date.
• International aircraft movements and domestic aircraft movements were down 1.6% and 7.5%, respectively.
• The decline in domestic aircraft movements was primarily due to the cessation of services by Origin Pacific.
