‘In The Pink’ Is Red Hot
Designs from New Zealand’s finest will grace the catwalks
of the SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre for The New
Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation’s annual fashion
fundraiser ‘In the Pink’ being held on Friday, 13 July
2007.
Tickets for the eighth ‘In The Pink’ have once again proved to be hot, hot, hot with this year’s show selling out weeks in advance.
The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation Executive Director, Helen Mawn, says ‘In the Pink’ has been a tremendously successful fundraiser for the charity in previous years, and she expects this year’s event to be the best yet.
“In the Pink’ has built up a very loyal following of supporters since its inception eight years ago.
“The combination of stunning fashion, exquisite food and rousing entertainment has made it one of the must-attend events on the Auckland calendar since its inception eight years ago,” says Ms Mawn. SKYCITY’s General Manager Communications, Megan McSweeney, says SKYCITY is delighted to be the Major Sponsor of ‘In the Pink’ - an event they have supported since its launch in 2000.
“SKYCITY is in the business of providing fun and entertainment, so an event like ‘In the Pink’ is a fantastic way of showing our customers a great time, while also helping The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation continue their vital work in our community,” says Ms McSweeney.
Ms Mawn says breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer and death among New Zealand women, so the funds raised at events like ‘In the Pink’ are integral to assisting the Foundation’s ongoing community education and awareness programmes.
“We are very grateful for the support of all of the fashion designers and event sponsors in helping us to raise as much as possible from the night,” says Ms Mawn.
Kay Gregory, will host ‘In the Pink’ with entertainment provided by The Lady Killers – Tina Cross, Suzanne Lynch, Jackie Clark and Taisha.
Participating designers this year include: Liz Mitchell, Yvonne Bennetti, Andrea Moore, Helen Talbot, Zambesi, Jane Rhodes, Doris de Pont, Caroline Church, Little Brother, Annah Stretton, Hailwood and Triumph Lingerie.
‘In the Pink’ begins with cocktails at 6.30pm, followed by a two-course meal prepared by award-winning SKYCITY chefs and finishes off with gourmet treats from Donovans Chocolates.
