Rivercity Marine Ltd, a Wanganui boat building company won a major award at the Christchurch Boat Show last weekend, the show, the largest boat show in the South Island.
Rivercity Marine’s South Island agent Dellabarca Marine & Electrical won the award for “Best All Materials Fishing Boat of the Show” for their AMF Pro Sport Series 660 Hardtop Cabin boat.
“All Materials” meaning boats of all construction mediums compete against each other. The AMF 660 Hardtop Cabin is constructed of plate aluminium.
Rivercity Marine Manager Bevan Collings was on hand to accept the award – the company’s first and he said he was “over the moon”. “It’s great to see AMF boats developers Brian Collings and Paul Sharratt get credit for their years of effort.” “Thanks also need to go to our staff at Rivercity Marine for their quality workmanship. Rivercity Marine est. 1981 by Mr. Collings’ father Brian builds its boats from scratch at its Wanganui Quay factory and supplies a dealer network and current export markets. “There is lots of exciting export opportunities out there for us; our focus on quality is perfect to take to the world”
AMF Boats are built by two companies owned by Brian Collings; the other factory based in Mt Maunganui is a studio boat building yard specializing in one off custom recreational builds, Coast Guard vessels, Barges and commercial craft up to 20mtrs.
