Kay Gregory leaving Breakfast

Kay Gregory, co-host of TV ONE's Breakfast programme, has announced she will leave her position on 4 August 2007 to focus on her family and other work commitments.

For the past ten years Kay has balanced her family life and television career between her home base in the Waikato and TVNZ's studio in Auckland.

Kay says she would now like to expand her role as a marriage and funeral celebrant.

"I would also like to be able to do more public speaking and freelance writing without the tiredness that comes from getting up at 3.30 in the mornings five days a week."

Kay will continue her involvement with various charities, including the Parkinsons Society and Breast Cancer Foundation, and as an Ambassador for Dress for Success, a charitable trust aimed at helping women back into the workforce.

Kay says she will miss the many friends she has made at TVNZ through her roles as a presenter and a journalist, especially all the members of the Breakfast team.

"It's been a wonderful ten years and I am very grateful to TVNZ for the opportunities they have given me".
