Masthead Portfolios Extends the Closing Date for its Cash Offer
for Abano Healthcare

24 October 2007 – Masthead Portfolios Ltd today advised that it will be extending the closing date on its partial takeover offer to all shareholders in Abano Healthcare Group Ltd.

Its $3.85 a share cash offer will now be open for a further 20 days, closing on 29 November 2007.

Masthead is the largest shareholder in Abano with a 19.9 per cent stake. It intends to use the extra time to closely analyse and assess the Target Company Statement, which was released to the market today.
