You get a brand-new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 complete with an 8GB capacity and 1GB of data for $74.95 a month on a two-year contract offered by Vodafone. Or, upgrade to 3GB of data for $90 a month on a two-year contract, and either way you pay nothing up front for the Dell Inspiron Mini 9.

With its inbuilt 3G data card, the Inspiron Mini 9 is a small, easy-to-carry device stands ready to connect teens, tweens, travellers and “Tweeters” to their online world be it surfing the Web, chatting with friends, blogging, streaming content, uploading photos or enjoying favourite online videos, music and games.  It is an internet companion that can be fine-tuned to fit users’ specific needs and deeds.

“As a market segment, netbooks are growing faster than laptops or desktops and are expected to capture 20-30% of the market in New Zealand by the end of the year. Netbooks open-up a new form of Internet use called ‘Internet  snacking’ where customers can dip in to check their favourite site whenever and wherever they are,” says Paul Toomey, Vodafone’s GM of Product and Pricing.

With Vodafone and the Inspiron Mini 9, they get just that, with an up-front purchase price of $0 on the relevant Vodafone two-year plan. 

Vodafone’s Netbook Broadband Everyday plan offers 1GB of connectivity per month while its Netbook Broadband Pro plan offers 3GB per month. Both can be doubled for an additional $10 as part of Vodafone’s bundle insurance offer.

The Inspiron Mini 9 laptops are available from 1 April at selected Vodafone retailers and online at vodafone.co.nz.
