Food lovers from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch sick of taking a stab in the dark at a restaurant trying to find a good deal on food and beverages need search no more.

Dealeater.co.nz, a new website aimed at providing the best daily meal deals and drink specials to consumers fighting the recession, launches on Monday July 6.

The website was designed by Christchurch based entrepreneurs Jamie Bennett and Patrick Broadbent who found they were walking into restaurants and cafés at lunchtime, which had killer specials, that looked like ghost towns.

“People are struggling financially at the moment,” says Mr Bennett. “If they’re going to eat out they want to know what they’re eating is a good deal.”

“We are in the business of bringing you great deals daily, instead of stumbling upon them, for absolutely nothing in return.”

Each individual deal is valid for 24 hours. When that deal expires, a new deal swings into action.

“Each day is different so it’s always fresh.”

“We don't swamp you with options, there’s only a dinner and a lunch time special per city per day. So if you don't like what you see there’s always tomorrow.”

People don't need to sign up to the site, but they can register to receive a daily email, notifying them of great specials.

“The customer gets amazing deals for free and businesses increase traffic at no extra cost. It’s a win win for all parties involved.”
