Increased Burglary Rates in New Zealand Call for Greater Security
Official burglary statistics in New Zealand are recording a worrying rise, in Auckland alone the annual numbers of burglaries have increased from 8,118 in 2007 to 9,030 in 2009 . It is therefore not surprising that this rise has created a greater demand for quality perimeter fencing.
The use of perimeter fencing as a burglar deterrent has been about for many years, however, modern techniques allow for greater security and affordability. Ron ter Huurne, Managing Director of Fence World (www.fenceworld.co.nz), New Zealand’s leading fence and gate company commented;
“The demand for security and gate automation are constantly increasing along with the need for added security, this is particularly the case with commercial and high value property.
“Fence World recently installed a palisade fence adjacent to some railway lines to stop the local kids crossing the live lines.
“Childcare centres and kindergartens have also started using perimeter fencing in order to safeguard their children.”
There are many designs and specifications for perimeter fencing. Particularly popular for large areas are fences made with wire mesh topped with barb wire or a palisade style topped with spears. For added security at industrial sites an electric fence can be added to deter/detect a break-in. Palisade fencing is also now very popular with schools and kindergartens for obvious reasons.
Fenceworld was started in the early 90’s (under the name Fence Steel) and is still going strong today. To get advice, information or to make an order contact Ron ter Huurne on 09 299 7256, info@fenceworld.co.nz or visit their website www.fenceworld.co.nz.
