RentOfficeSpace.co.nz provides anyone seeking commercial space to lease in the Auckland area with an online tool to calculate the space they need, the location and the type of property.

Parallel Directions CEO, Peter Scott says the online tool is a first in this country and offers the first independent calculator for those seeking commercial property to lease.

He says New Zealand suffers from a lack of independent advice in the commercial property lease market with the industry dominated by real estate agencies representing both property owner and prospective business tenant alike.
 
“Elsewhere in the world this is not allowed and there is a clear distinction between those representing business tenants and those representing landlords. Here the lines are very blurred and it is questionable who is getting the best deal. It is not often the tenant though.”

Peter Scott says the online tool uses a set of algorithms to enable a visitor to the site to run through a simple assessment tool to self-select the type of properties that best suit their needs.

“The advantage of this tool is its independence and there is no risk of a leasing agent or other player with multiple interests skewing the search,” he says.
