Contour Launches Connect View Card and
Viewfinder App for ContourGPS Wearable Video Camera
Contour Viewfinder App now available on the App
Store for iPhone and iPod touch
New Zealand, March 25, 2011 - Contour, the market leader in hands-free video cameras, has today released the ConnectView card and Viewfinder App for the ContourGPS.
ConnectView and the Viewfinder App allow iPhones and iPod Touches to act as live viewfinders, giving users the opportunity to see what their ContourGPS camera sees.
For the first time ever, New Zealanders will be able to remotely configure their ContourGPS camera settings in real time, giving them complete control over the footage they create.
The ConnectView card and Viewfinder App saves valuable time and effort for adventure sports enthusiasts allowing them the opportunity to configure the camera as they go.
The card is compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation) and connects via Bluetooth once the card is inserted into the Contour GPS.
In order to use the new feature, ContourGPS video camera users must update the firmware on the camera and purchase the Contour ConnectView card (RRP $59.99) from New Zealand Retailers.
New Zealanders can then download the free Viewfinder App from the App Store or from iTunes.
“This changes the game in hands-free video,” said Contour CEO Marc Barros. “With this solution, we've overcome the limitation of a video camera lacking a wireless screen.
“Now when your camera is mounted you can actually look at a screen to line up your shot and change your settings in real time. Hands-free video just got a lot more hands-free.”
