New Web Start Up Looks To Satisfy Kiwi Freelancers
Among
the ongoing mass of group buying websites that continue to
launch
almost every day in the New Zealand marketplace,
a new web start up has
been quietly coming forward into
the internet spotlight.
Today, Zealance.co.nz has launched
the public Beta version of its new
web service.
Providing a freelance marketplace and outsourcing website
that is exclusive to New Zealand based professional
service providers.
Users are able to work remotely from
any location and at anytime by
managing the work
progress in online workrooms, expanding their
company's
reach to the whole of New Zealand. When a job is posted,
service providers are able to submit detailed proposals
in order to win
the job in an auction format. Clients
review each providers proposal and
profile to select the
best deal.
The website offers online job workrooms and
messaging functionality for
project management, as well
as a secure Escrow service for project
payment and
feedback ratings.
By setting up job terms and milestone
dates for each project, service
providers can request
funding from clients before work begins,. The
funds are
held in an Escrow holding account ready to be released to a
provider upon completion of the work. Putting an end to
payment disputes
between providers and clients.
The
site also looks to offer a solution to the problems New
Zealand
based professional service providers face when
using global outsourcing
websites to advertise their
skills.
"We're providing an outsourcing website on a local
scale," explains
Managing Director Nick Harley. "Usually
Kiwi professionals who want to
advertise on
international freelance and outsourcing websites find they
just cannot compete with the prices of providers from
regions such as
Asia, Eastern Europe and South
America."
"At Zealance, providers will only compete with other Kiwi businesses."
*Bucking The Trend*
"In the
past," Mr Harley explains, "clients have used global
outsourcing
websites to cut costs and have the work
carried out by overseas workers,
but we are seeing more
and more people finding that the reduced initial
cost is
no longer meaning the best deal."
"Problems with
communication and language differences, work day time
zones, foreign currencies, quality of work such as
fixing numerous
spelling mistakes, means your time is
taken up managing the job instead
of focusing on your
business."
Zealance offers a way for New Zealanders to
search and employ
professional service providers without
having to search through
directories, call each company
individually and compare quotes. Just by
posting a job
for free allows you to receive proposals for the work
requirements, select your provider, manage and pay for
the work in
online job workrooms. "We allow you to
manage the work progress online,
from anywhere, at
anytime." Mr Harley explains.
"In New Zealand, we are
proud of our, "Made in New Zealand" mentality.
We
believe most Kiwis would prefer to hire a local worker
rather than
employing overseas workers. Helping to keep
the money and business
within the New Zealand
economy."
Zealance offers several work catagories
including web design and
programming, marketing,
administration, graphic design, consutatancy and
writing.e
