Gull promises to keep prices low until the weekend

MEDIA RELEASE

Gull promises to keep prices low until the weekend

Auckland, 15 June 2011 - Gull has assured motorists that unlike other companies, it will hold its petrol prices for as long as possible.

Despite the New Zealand dollar soaring to record levels, prices for regular petrol at some of Gull's competitors have reached $2.089 per litre.

Gull concedes that for other companies that have a lot of overheads, raising the price of diesel to more than $1.50 per litre may be a solution.

However Gull's General Manager, Dave Bodger says raising the price of petrol now would be a "kick in the teeth" for Kiwis.

Gull will review its prices on Friday but has committed to holding petrol prices until at least the weekend.

Bodger commented: "New Zealand is going through a tough time at the moment so everyone needs to do their part to help. At Gull, we really care about our customers so we want to ensure that we can keep providing petrol with the lowest price possible at all our stations."

At the moment, regular petrol from Gull's unmanned sites is still under $2 per litre.

Most common prices at Gull priced sites are:

Gull Regular Plus (91 Octane) $2.039 Gull Regular (91 Octane) $2.049 Gull Force 10 (98 Octane) $2.179 Gull Diesel Max (5% biodiesel blend) $1.449 Gull Low Sulphur Diesel $1.459
