Jobit.co.nz has launched!
Josh Dean, Will Finlayson, and Andrew Hanley are the creators of www.jobit.co.nz, a New Zealand site rapidly gaining momentum with 100 users only three days after its launch.
On Jobit, a job is posted and then people can quote the price they will do the required work for.
It is free to register, use the site, and free to quote up to $100 a job.
The creators say it will be an ideal tool for trade’s people, handymen seeking more work and teenagers looking for pocket money. It will also be a great resource for anyone who needs odd jobs done.
Mr Dean said “Everyone in the community has skills and talents, and we want to make that accessible. Instead of leafing through phone books or checking the supermarket post boards, now you can just Jobit.”
For a person who needs an odd job done it’s as easy posting it on the website, and for a person looking for work it’s as easy as browsing through the jobs available and quoting on those they want to do.
The creators have big plans for the future of Jobit; it’s now ready to go nationwide and they hint at some helpful new features to get jobs done even easier.
Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt is behind the idea and has already signed up and completed the first job at the Jobit launch party by mowing the venue’s lawns for $1. The weather was stunning for the launch and members of the community came along to support the new innovative new website.
The antique Masport push mower used at the launch party was auctioned on Trademe to a Jobit member from Bay of Plenty for $151. The mower money is being donated to St John at the behest of Mayor Tim Shadbolt, aligning with his Guinness World Record achievement (Smashing Records) which is also raising money for St John.
