Hamish Johnstone knows job interviews. After all, he has spent the last twenty years in senior HR roles helping companies around the world - including postal giant DHL and the Dubai-based conglomerate AlFuttaim Group - employ and develop their people. However, his recruitment to Hellaby Holdings as its new Chief Human Resources Officer is one out of the box.

Since July last year, as a partner at the respected executive search and leadership consulting firm Heidrick & Struggles, the 51-year-old has been managing a new Hellaby leadership development programme, during the course of which he has subjected every member of the Hellaby leadership team, including those at the corporate office, to a battery of tests and interviews.

And after creating a leadership development programme for the company he has been asked to stay and continue the work he started.More>>
