Cloud Rainmakers invests $500,000 in online mobile workforce job management company GeoOP

Capital and talent injection into Xero add-on company to accelerate growth in NZ and Australia markets & open offices in the US & UK

AUCKLAND, 14 February 2013 - Cloud Rainmakers Ltd, a new strategic investment company that invests in businesses that offer software as a service (SaaS) to turn them into export successes, has invested $500,000 into GeoOP Limited. GeoOP’s cloud-based technology is for service and trade industries and replaces any business processes which involve paperwork, so admin and mobile workers can work more efficiently in real-time.

FAST FACTS • Cloud Rainmakers is the investment vehicle for entrepreneur and strategic investor Leanne Graham. • GeoOP has recognised that the mobile workforce space is the hottest growth sector for small business efficiency. • Its mobile job workflow management app improves service delivery and helps businesses get paid faster. It works smart phones and devices and replaces inefficient paper based and hardware based processes with mobile, cloud based technology accessed in real-time. • 500% growth in the past year. • GeoOP has 75% of its business offshore: (2012 figures): 45% Australia, 25% NZ, 12% UK, 12% US. In 42 markets in total. • Focus with investment - increase revenue, customer growth, channel and partner growth, form strategic partnerships with telcos, further capital investment for offshore growth.

This is the first investment for Cloud Rainmakers, which was formed in December 2012 by Leanne Graham, the former Country Manager for Xero.

With this investment GeoOP plans to roll out its global expansion plans and build on its phenomenal success to date; which has been 500% growth in business over the last year.

GeoOP’s started in 2009 and its majority shareholders include Nicolas Barnett, Brendan Cervin and Simon Fraser. The technology is suited to any industry that has a mobile workforce.

Office administrators use GeoOP online and as it’s all in the cloud, workers out in the field can use it wherever they are on their smartphones and tablets. Features such as scheduling, job dispatch, GPS, quoting, offline mode, invoicing (that connects to Xero and various other accounting systems) and more help to improve service delivery, impress clients and help businesses get paid faster.

Cloud Rainmakers Director Leanne Graham says, “GeoOP is one of those rare finds to invest in - it’s truly redefining how service-focused businesses operate and is unrivalled anywhere in the world. Millions of SMEs still rely on pens, paper, spread sheets and phone calls to run their business, despite the growing use of smartphones. SMEs also use incredibly powerful hardware but they’re let down by that lack of software to enable them to work to their full capacity.

“GeoOP has recognised that the mobile workforce space is the hottest growth sector for small business efficiency. Service based industries need to stay relevant in an ever-changing market, and cloud-based technology is the future.”

Nicolas Bartlett, Founder and Chief Operating Officer for GeoOP, says, “We’re humbled to get this kind of investment. It gives us the ability to grow our team and over the year open offices in the US and UK.

“GeoOP came about from a mash up of our loves of smartphones from Apple and Google, location-based apps and the cloud. Our international competition is thin. There are plenty of sole-trader management apps, but very little for streamlined team management. It was only a few years ago this kind of technology used to clunky and prohibitively expensive. We’re about bringing the benefits of mobility to the small and medium sized business.

“Cloud Rainmakers’ investment means we can really accelerate our growth in markets with first mover advantages to become the global standard technology for mobile workforce job management.”
