ANZ wins best Agribusiness Bank for second year

ANZ has won CANSTAR’s Best Agribusiness Bank award for 2013, following a win in the inaugural competition last year.

The award goes to the institution that provides the best combination of products and services to agribusiness customers.

“We are delighted that the new ANZ has taken out the award that was won by The National bank last year,” said Graham Turley, ANZ’s Managing Director Commercial & Agri.

“Since bringing the ANZ and National Bank brands together, we’ve worked very hard to deliver the high standards of service and products to our commercial and agri customers that they enjoyed under the National Bank. The award recognises that we’ve achieved that.

“Our customers have access to more agri managers in more locations across the country.

They also have access to our other specialist products, such as equipment finance, insurance and wealth offerings, as well as specialist support in interest rate, currency risk and commodity risk management.

“Our customers can also count on us for information and research - from economic reports and surveys to seminars and benchmarking – to help grow their businesses and make them more efficient.

“As New Zealand’s largest rural lender, we work hard to provide support for every area relevant to our agribusiness industry.”

CANSTAR New Zealand National Manager Derek Bonnar said ANZ performed exceptionally strongly across all areas under consideration by the judges.

“We not only look at products, but also how the institutions work with and serve the local communities they’re apart of,” Mr Bonnar said.

“ANZ’s recent support of farmers in drought-affected areas is one example of this. Its hardship packages were designed to help farmers meet short-term cash requirements and re-establish their farms to full performance when conditions improve.”
