‘Amazing’ response as goMoney ups the ante

ANZ has received an ‘amazing’ response to its new goMoney mobile banking app – which incorporates several new features suggested by customers.

The new app for iPhone and Android was launched last Friday, and has been No 1 for five consecutive days on the NZ Apple App Store for all categories – a first for a mobile banking app.

“Customers helped us create this great new app,” said Fred Ohlsson, ANZ’s Managing Director Retail and Business Banking.

“When we brought the ANZ and National Bank mobile banking together a year ago, customers came to us with great ideas on how we could make our mobile app better.

“We took on board many of these suggestions, including improved bill payment functionality, increased payment limits, the ability to view and delete upcoming payments on iOS, and a four-digit PIN and a pay-to-mobile function on Android.

“With these improvements, plus changes to make it look better and be easier to use, goMoney has really upped the ante.

“The response from customers has been amazing. The new iPhone app achieved a 4.5 star rating on the iTunes app store on Monday and comments to staff and online have been overwhelmingly positive.”

By this morning customers had downloaded 85,948 goMoney apps for iOS and 30,774 for Android.

Mr Ohlsson said customer feedback will continue to drive improvements. Changes to account reordering are likely to be a feature of future upgrades, along with further security enhancements. A new mobile payments solution for businesses is also on the way.

“The pace of development will increase and I’m confident that future improvements will make it a match for the best mobile banking apps,” Mr Ohlsson said.
