Top New Zealand Audio Studio begins Work Training Programme.

Bonfire Audio

Bonfire Audio, one of New Zealand’s leading Audio Post-Production Studios launches new work preparation training programme. “This is not a school, but a training programme designed to prepare up-and-coming Sound Mixers for employment,” says Henry Coburn, owner of Bonfire Audio. While many schools and tertiary institutions offer students Audio courses, we are offering young and inexperienced Sound Mixers the opportunity to be trained in a way that make them employment ready, he says.

Located in Wellington, New Zealand, Bonfire Audio has enlisted the help of fellow Kiwi, and veteran Hollywood Sound Mixer, Paul Feenstra, to provide trainees with internationally accepted skills. “All I’m doing, is passing on knowledge that I learned by working 24 years in Hollywood” says Feenstra. “Any young person wanting a career in a competitive industry needs an edge, we are providing them with the skills that give them the edge over conventional schools.”

Both Coburn and Feenstra acknowledge that finding employment at a Post-Production facility isn’t easy, those jobs do go to the best and most qualified candidates. We are preparing trainee’s to give them the advantage, teaching them “Best Practice” as it applies in the real world at a working studio. “We are giving young people an opportunity that’s not readily available elsewhere,” says Coburn.

While the training programme is open to anyone, regardless of experience, Coburn says our interview and selection process sorts out who is serious and who isn’t.
