The Simpl Group appoints National Engineering Centre Manager
Following the recent announcement about its new brand Simplhealth, The Simpl Group has announced the appointment of David Frazer as its National Engineering Centre Manager.
Working with Jodi Mitchell, CEO, and Ivan Bozich, COO, David Frazer’s role will be to lead the national team of project managers, software developers and solutions architects as the company grows its focus on developing and delivering healthcare information technology platforms.
He joins from F-secure, an international company specialising in anti-virus, cloud content and computer security and has over twenty years of experience as a market and business development specialist in New Zealand, the US and Europe.
Jodi Mitchell says David will support Simpl’s focus on delivering technology platforms that help healthcare professionals collaborate, communicate and work better together to achieve the best results for patients.
“David arrives with a huge amount of commercial experience in developing software as a service, an increasingly important aspect of the cloud based systems we deliver,” she says.
“It’s not often one can welcome someone with David’s background, at the opportune time. His international insight into product development and financial delivery models will be invaluable as we work with partners to maximise the use of technology to provide better patient care.”
Originally from Ireland, David spent twelve years in New Zealand working with accounting software company Solution6 before moving to Europe with F-Secure. There he managed the company’s move into security software-as-a-service products that were marketed through ISPs, a business that he then helped build across the United States.

About The Simpl Group
The Simpl Group was established in 1989 and has offices in Auckland and Wellington. It started as a systems integration business and has worked in a number of business sectors while always having a particular strength in healthcare both here and overseas, including Australia and the US. The company has been behind national programmes such as the disability management system Socrates and the Before 4 School Check programme to support child health. It was also pivotal in the implementation of the eRx Script Exchange national ePrescription service in Australia. The platforms it develops involve collaboration with other technology companies, government departments and district health boards, and support the implementation of health policy. Its senior leaders are involved in the wider industry through leadership roles in the NZ Technology Industry Association and the NZ Health IT Cluster. It announced its new brand, Simplhealth, in November 2013 to focus entirely on developing healthcare information technology solutions.
