GE to distribute iToolsOnline’s Work Management Software

GE to distribute iToolsOnline’s Work Management Software

Auckland-based iToolsOnline partners with GE

Auckland, New Zealand

GE and iToolsOnline have signed a worldwide reseller agreement. The agreement will see GE resell iToolsOnline’s work management software (“iTools”) alongside its Smallworld™ geospatial asset management suite.

iTools is used by utilities and telecom operators to manage a wide variety of network asset management activities – from large-scale infrastructure rollouts to more routine ‘inspect and maintain’ processes. iTools streamlines and automates these processes, bringing productivity gains and compliance improvements.

According to Mark Simon, iToolsOnline’s CEO, formalising the relationship with GE was a logical next step: “We’ve been working closely with GE for a couple of years now – initially in support of some common customers. During that time, utilities have started demanding more from their network asset management processes – wanting both productivity gains and an easier way to meet their compliance obligations. iTools integrated with Smallworld™ helps them achieve that.”

Streamlining Complex Asset Management Processes

In support of the relationship, iTools has developed an integration module that gives GE’s customers a simple way of introducing iTools into their existing Smallworld™ environment.

iTools for Smallworld™ allows utilities and telecom operators to streamline their asset management processes and automate the synchronization of data between systems. Its real-time integration means Smallworld records can be accessed and updated as part of the operational process defined and executed within iTools.

GE’s Perspective

“Utilities are looking for a more efficient and robust way of performing their daily network life cycle activities,” said Bryan Friehauf, product line leader for GE’s Grid Solutions Asset Management business. “Adding iTools’ work management capability into our existing software solutions portfolio is an exciting proposition. It means we can better serve our customers in meeting these challenges.”
