“Influence & Inspire” is the message for home-grown IT conferences

“Influence & Inspire” is the message going out to software testing professionals from the WeTest conferences this year. Speakers from around the world will be sharing ideas that encourage attendees to lead as well as participate in change.

“These conferences are by testers and for testers. That means we can guarantee that the content is relevant,” says conference co-organiser, Katrina Clokie. In 2016, the WeTest events will have presenters from London, New York and Bangalore as well as local experts.

This is the fourth year that the conference has been held in New Zealand, and the first time that it will run in two locations. WeTest will be held in Auckland on the 17th of October and Wellington on the 20th of October.

Both conferences are expected to sell out. “Tickets are selling quickly because WeTest events have built a strong reputation in the community”, says conference co-organiser Shirley Tricker.

The WeTest events are run by four industry volunteers: Katrina Clokie, Shirley Tricker, Aaron Hodder and Daniel Donbavand. The volunteer effort, plus generous sponsorship, has ensured that the fee for the conference is kept low.

“It’s really economical for companies to send their entire test team”, says conference co-organiser, Aaron Hodder. “And having a shared experience with colleagues amplifies the benefits of attending.”
