Pet Doctors Group Expands Into Napier
One of Napier’s leading veterinary clinics has become part of the Pet Doctors Group.
Taradale Vet Hospital has partnered with Pet Doctors, which is New Zealand’s largest group of companion animal veterinary clinics. The previous owners, Dr Clive Hambly and Sharon Hambly, will continue to run the business as Practice Manager and Business Manager respectively.
Pet Doctors CEO, Dr Steve Merchant, says he is delighted to welcome Taradale Vet Hospital to the group.
“Taradale Vet Hospital is one of the region’s leading veterinary clinics, with an excellent reputation in the community. We look forward to supporting their outstanding team to continue the great work they do.”
Dr Merchant says the Pet Doctors model has been built on providing clinic owners with centralised administration support and efficiencies. With their growing network of veterinarians, including specialists, they can also share clinical expertise and knowledge.
Founded in 2005, Pet Doctors Group now operates 29 veterinary clinics in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Palmerston North, Napier, Christchurch and Dunedin. In addition, the Group owns a mixed-rural practice in Waihi, and a purpose-built Exotics and Wildlife Hospital in Auckland.
Pet Doctors also operates a number of vertically-integrated businesses – including New Zealand’s most long-established online pet shop; and VetNurse Plus, a leading education provider for veterinary nurses. The Pet Doctors Animal Care Trust (PDACT) is a registered charitable trust which funds veterinary care for animals in need.
