Time for a self regulated vape industry
Over the past few years electronic cigarettes have seen a surge in popularity both worldwide and in New Zealand. Thousands of kiwi's have been switching over to "vapes”
A conglomerate of New Zealand Vape vendors have now banded together and formed a trade association in order to give consumers peace of mind that they are purchasing quality products which can offer a genuine harm reduction solution when compared to traditional tobacco
VTANZ (the Vape Trade Association of New Zealand) is currently comprised of over 12 reputable vendors – making it by far the largest independent voice for the vape industry in NZ.
Lawrence, president of VTANZ stated: “It’s time for the vape industry in New Zealand to have some modicum of regulation. Currently it is unregulated and by setting forth a series of product safety/manufacture guidelines and working together as a society – we are able to raise the bar for product standards in New Zealand so that every vendor, every customer and every vaper can be assured that the products we are retailing and manufacturing are of the highest standard possible.
We feel that an ill informed regulatory framework or excessive taxation will not only affect retailers, but the community at large by arbitrarily limiting their choices as adults. VTANZ also wishes to work with and enter a dialogue with both the Ministry of Health and Aotearoa Vape Community Advocacy (AVCA) in order to achieve a Smokefree New Zealand.
VTANZ wishes to be an all-inclusive voice of the vape industry. We wish to work together with vendors of all sizes and as such, are happy to announce we are opening applications for new vendors starting Monday 13th Feburary with details available on our website.”
