Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited is pleased to announce the addition of Tui McKendrick to the Pasifika TV team as the new Head of Programming and Content.
McKendrick brings extensive broadcasting experience to Pasifika TV having worked at Sky Television (NZ), TV3, TVNZ and more recently the Head of Television for Oceania Football Confederation. She has significant production expertise, as during her tenure at Sky Television she was the executive producer for Sky Sport, and was involved in a large number of sporting events from the 2009 NZ Winter Games to the 2012 London Olympics, producing the 2012 World Rowing Championships, the 2011 IRB Awards, 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and Paralympics, the Delhi Commonwealth Games, and the OFC Nations Cup and Champions League.
“We are absolutely thrilled about the possibilities that come with having a person of such high calibre on our team, who also has an understanding of working in the Pacific.” says Natasha Meleisea CEO, Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited.
In September 2018 at the Pacific Islands Forum, it was announced that PCBL would receive additional funding to deliver its broadcasting service. This would include the transition from a contribution feed to a channel service.
“Tui will play a key role in the look and feel of how the upgraded service to a channel is presented. Her experience of working with the Pacific is an advantage to ensuring that we continue to be responsive, stay relevant and innovative in our service,” Meleisea says.
“These are exciting
times for Pasifika TV as we look ahead to the future of
broadcasting and the contribution that our service will make
in the Pacific. We are keen to collaborate more and build
even stronger partnerships with Pacific broadcasters through
sharing content,” McKendrick says. “I am very excited by
the new opportunity at Pasifika TV.”
