SkyPath Trust has been in correspondence with NZTA's Chair Michael Stiassny this week. Yesterday Mr Stiassny ordered an independent investigation into NZTA’s handling of SkyPath:

"I have received correspondence from the Skypath Trust today (March 7) which includes statements which contradict my understanding of the NZTA’s previous dealings with the Trust.

I am deeply concerned with this situation and I have ordered an independent investigation to establish the facts once and for all."

SkyPath Trust’s Chair Christine Rose said “"We take this investigation in good faith and trust the process will be resolved expediently and with haste. It's a shame that it has come to this but we welcome the opportunity to progress the SkyPath project with NZTA for the benefit of all Aucklanders".

Project Director Bevan Woodward said “I am hopeful the investigation will be the breakthrough we need to enable Aucklanders to be walking and cycling across their Bridge by 2021.”
