Jack Tame To Helm 1News At Six Weekends |
||

Award-winning broadcaster Jack Tame has been appointed presenter of 1News at Six weekends, joining Melissa Stokes, who earlier this week was named anchor of the weekday bulletin.
Jack’s appointment marks another milestone in his career at TVNZ. Since joining as a 19-year-old reporter in 2006, Tame has built an impressive career spanning nearly two decades. His five-year tenure as TVNZ's US Correspondent in New York saw him cover pivotal global events including two presidential elections, Olympic Games, hurricanes and the Sandy Hook mass shooting tragedy. He went on to co-host morning news show, Breakfast, and since 2019, has been the host of Q+A, TVNZ’s flagship political current affairs program.
As TVNZ moves into a hotly contested election year, Jack will continue to front Q+A in addition to 1News at Six weekends, delivering the in-depth political analysis and hard-hitting interviews New Zealanders have come to expect.
Nadia Tolich, TVNZ's Chief News & Content Officer, said “Jack is one of New Zealand’s most accomplished broadcasters and interviewers. He’s a two-time best presenter winner at the NZ Screen Awards and was named Political Reporter of the Year at last year’s Voyagers. We’re delighted to have him join the 1News at Six presenting team. His experience across news, current affairs and live reporting brings enormous depth to our coverage.
With Melissa leading weekdays and Jack on weekends, 1News at Six has an exceptionally strong team in place - one that will serve our audience well.”
