Te Arikinui To Celebrate Rangatahi Entrepreneurs During London Visit

Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po will visit London this week to celebrate rangatahi entrepreneurs supported by The King’s Trust Aotearoa New Zealand.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Trust, which is dedicated to helping young people to complete their journey from education to employment.

Four rangatahi entrepreneurs from Aotearoa will take part in the anniversary celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday and a garden party at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

The rangatahi have established businesses that are creating jobs and opportunities for whānau and their local communities.

During their time in London, the entrepreneurs will learn from other founders, build international connections, and engage with global supporters and networks.

Kiingitanga Spokesman Rahui Papa says the success of these rangatahi reflects the strength of leadership, innovation and enterprise to create opportunities for future generations.

“Whether at home or on the world stage, Te Arikinui’s leadership is about creating pathways for our people, particularly our rangatahi, to thrive."

The King’s Trust Aotearoa New Zealand’s recent He Kākano Impact Report showed 93 per cent of young entrepreneurs supported into business by the Trust were still operating after two years, significantly higher than the 37 per cent of start-ups that remain in operation over the same period.
