Pompeii Breaks Record for Prime

Prime Television is thrilled to announce that Wednesday night’s screening of Pompeii – The Last Day hit a record audience of 206,200 viewers for a historical docudrama on the Prime network.

The BBC docudrama looked back at that historic day in AD79 when Mount Vesuvius erupted for the first time in 1800 years. Pompeii – The Last Day brought to life the day the city died an agonising death.

Pompeii – The Last Day continues the series of special BBC events to come on Prime this year.

Prime is committed to bringing its audience strong programming content in the field of historical drama. Still to come on Prime is First Olympians – Inside the Ancient Greek Sporting Arena, Colosseum – Rome’s Arena of Death and the series Seven Wonders of the Industrial World.

These BBC docudramas are first class programmes that draw from the actual words and experiences of the people of that time. Actors and the unmatched expertise of the BBC bring their words and actions to life.
